PREPARATION

HOLIDAY HEALTH INSURANCE

The boat is covered with Comprehensive Insurance. This covers the yacht and third party liability.

Personal travel insurance is recommended when on overseas holidays and expected on our charters.

ARRIVAL

Arriving in Corfu on the afternoon of the charter

When you arrive at Corfu Airport you can ask the taxi to take you to the Maistro Cafe at Gouvia Marina, where the boat is berthed. This ride will take approximately 10 minutes. The Marina is modern and well equipped with all necessary facilities. You can relax there until we come to collect you to take you to the boat.

Arriving in Corfu before the day of the charter

If you choose to spend a day or two in Corfu before your charter it is very easy to catch a taxi to Gouvia Marina, where ‘Saving Grace’ is berthed. You can meet us at the Maistro Café in the Marina complex next to the Marina Office and swimming pool at around 1700 hours or you can walk out to the boat – the Marina Office will direct you there.

Your departure at the end of the week is usually at 1000 hours, but this is flexible. We need to allow time for cleaning and maintenance before the next charter that afternoon.

WHAT TO BRING

Suitcases are not suitable for yachts. Small and medium sized soft holdalls/bags can be tidied away in a locker. You really do not need a vast amount of clothing as there are no fancy venues on the islands or mainland where you need to dress up. A warm jumper or jacket and loose pair of trousers/pants are sometimes needed in the evening when it can get chilly, especially in the early or late season.

Shoes with white soles are best. These can be Deck shoes or cheap canvas shoes. Thongs and swimming shoes are also useful for the pebble beaches.

Although there is Bimini shade on the boat it is important to bring high protection sun cream and clothing.

Linen, blankets and pillows are provided but you need to bring your own towels for health reasons. One for fresh water and one for sea water is a good idea.

It is useful to have cash and travellers’ cheques as well as your credit/debit cards as some ATM’s can be unreliable.

As the yacht runs on a 12 volt system there are no facilities for 120 or 240 volt appliances such as electric shavers and hairdryers.
